Snow days...are crafting days!

Ok, enough already! I am soooo tired of snow! I spent the last 5 days snowed in with Mr. PrimRoseHill and yesterday we were getting snippy. ;) Thank goodness I made it into work today. {whew!} I like snow, really I do, but we had a major snowstorm the weekend of my birthday (Dec 18th) and couldn't get out for days. Then we had rain, rain, and more rain...and thought the creek across the road was going to be in our yard if it didn't quit. THEN we had more snow last Friday (8") and I get up to go to work yesterday and guess what? It's pouring SNOW and SLEET! So there's about 3" on top of the snow from the weekend. Oh yes, did I mention that the weather guys are saying we're in for a MAJOR SNOW STORM Friday? Really now. I think we've had enough. My biggest complaint is that I'm using up my "vacation days" because I can't make it into work. Which then means I'll be extra-cranky this summer when I'm having to work instead of taking those fun vacation days running to craft shows and all.

So I did lounge around the house for days on end I admit ;) but I did get a few crafts done too. I've been making more "mannequin ladies" for my etsy shop and thought I'd share a few pics here. Hopefully I will get them loaded up today. IF I can quit Farmville long enough...LOL...sadly I have become one of those dreadful Farmville addicts. :)

So my first "lady" is a wonderful indigo/turquoise blue! It was really heard to capture her blue batik fabric. I attached her to a keepsake box. I thought she would make a cute pinkeep and the box could be used for notions. OR these ladies can be used for jewelry holders too:

For my prim lovers, I think this one will be going in my Country-Fried Primitives shoppe. She is made with cranberry & spice tan ticking fabric and has a hand-stitched gingerbread man with candies apron. She would make an adorable pinkeep with her button necklace and spool base, but I think she would be cute sitting in a prim kitchen too:

And you know how I love pink roses, so this is just like one I made for my dear friend Helen who LOVES anything with pink roses. She has pearl trim "shawl" and pearl button at her waist:

So I almost forgot to share with you these stockings I did for one of my favorite eBay buyers. She emailed me about doing a custom order for her after she bought a few of my stockings I had for sale before Christmas. Her friend, who is a big prim-lover, fell in love with her prim punch needle stockings I had made and so she contacted me about making two for her friend. What a thoughtful friend! I really enjoyed making these. They coordinate beautifully with the same blue background and cranberry red in the punch needle:

And it's time already for St. Patty Days items! Ok, well time for me to be making them. And here's my first shamrock I hope to be posting right after Valentine's Day on eBay:

So I haven't totally wasted my snow days I guess. :) But really, enough snow! Hope you're having a warm and SUNNY day in your part of the world.

Hugs,
Sheri

December already?? I've been a busy bee!

I know, I just can't believe it! Where have the past few weeks gone? I've been busy as a bee, that's for sure! I still have some "crafties" to finish, but thought I'd go ahead and post what I've been making. :)

I have to start with my latest creations! I am really getting into these and think they make cute pin keeps (as in the black one below) or jewelry holders (as the turquoise one below). I think they will become a regular in my stores.Punch needle galore! More Christmas baskets!

And of course, since I've been doing more punch needle, I've had to make Christmas stockings!

And with the holidays you have to have cutsey bird ornies!

OH, and I almost forgot my scarf! I have one finished and I love it because it's sooooo soft!

Whew! I still have to finish my embroider-ed pieces this week and a super soft pink scarf! And I have to study for my final exam too. I just love being an "older" student. ;) But I've decided to not take a class in the spring (January) and just focus on work full-time and my part-time craft business. that's enough, isn't it? ;)

Hope you're feeling crafty! What have you been making? Have a blessed Wednesday!

NEW EBAY LISTINGS!

PRIM "Fall is here" PUNCH NEEDLE mini-rug CAT, PUMPKIN

a sweet little mini-rug of a kitty cat standing under a star with sunflowers and a big orange pumpkin. I must be in the mood for fall time and cooler weather because all my auctions this week are fall-theme oriented. :) Guess I'm tired of hot weather! This is such a cute piece and is definitely a favorite of mine.

This punch-needle embroidery was punched by me using 6-strands of DMC cotton floss on weaver's cloth.
It was then trimmed and backed it with white wool (not wool felt). I whipstitched the mini-rug and wool together with black yarn to give it more of a finished look on the edges.

This punch-needle mini-rug measures approximately 6" wide X 5 1/2" tall.

PRIM "Tall Kitty Cat" PUNCH NEEDLE keepsake box,PUMPKIN

A sweet little mini-rug of a kitty cat standing on big orange pumpkins and attached it to a keepsake box. I must be in the mood for fall time and cooler weather because all my auctions this week are fall-theme oriented. :) Guess I'm tired of hot weather!

This punch-needle embroidery was punched by me using 6-strands of DMC cotton floss on weaver's cloth. It was then trimmed and attached to a papier mache box with a subtle black-on-black design. I tried to over-expose the print in the pictures so you could tell what the print was. The actual black-on-black color is more somwhere between the colors in the 3rd & 5th pictures--not as bright as I've tried to show. The top of the lid has a pretty gold scrolly pattern.

The punch-needle mini-rug measures approximately: 5 1/4" wide x 4 3/4" tall.
The box measures approximately: 7" x 7".

PRIM "Scarecrow and Pumpkins" PUNCH NEEDLE mini-rug

This punch-needle embroidery was punched by me using 6-strands of DMC cotton floss on weaver's cloth. It was then trimmed and backed with navy-blue wool (not wool felt). I whipstitched the mini-rug and wool together with navy-blue yarn to give it more of a finished look on the edges.

This punch-needle mini-rug measures approximately: 5 1/2" wide X 5 1/2" tall.

PRIM "Pumpkin watch" PUNCH NEEDLE mini-rug CAT, PUMPKIN
A sweet little mini-rug of a kitty cat standing on a big orange pumpkin. I must be in the mood for fall time and cooler weather because all my auctions this week are fall-theme oriented. :) Guess I'm tired of hot weather! This is such a cute piece and is definitely another favorite of mine.

New Ebay items listed!

I am offering a sweet little keepsake box with an Americana theme. I love anything with sheep or lambs! This punch needle embroidery was punched by me using DMC floss. It was originally a rug pattern that I thought would make a cute punch needle.

"STARLIT EWE" rug pattern by Peyton Primitives.

The mini-rug was trimmed with blue yarn and attached to a wooden box that I painted a pretty barn-red color. It has a rich color, reminding me of a cherry-wood color. The box was sanded, painted, distressed, and then lighly stained with "antique linen" to give the color more depth. (The inside was also painted barn-red.) The outside of the lid has golden and blue distressed colors all around it.

This keepsake box measures approximately: 7 1/4" length, 4" width, and stands 4" tall.

Poppies Punch Needle

Hello!
I finished another punch needle piece this weekend and think I'll list it today. I did a mat of this and attached it to a basket and was pleased when it sold. I got several emails asking if I would just sell the mini-rug by itself, so I thought...hmmm...well, guess I'll do that! :) So I'm listing it today. I have an Americana piece I hope to finish tonight and list tomorrow too.
Hope you're having a great Monday!
Hugs,
Sheri

Crows, Sunflowers, a Kitty-cat & Cherry Pie!

Hello friends!

I have been busy the past two weeks! I thought I would never finish punch needling "Cherry Pie"! My, what a great piece, but large when compared to most punch needle! It measures across the front of the basket, which is almost 12". Whew! I wonder how many hours I spent on this one? But I enjoy doing it, so I can't say I'm complaining. :) I also finished the Sunflowers & Crow which looks lovely on the basket and also decided to do a little designing of my own with "Flower Girl". I've listed everything on eBay and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :) What have you been creating lately?
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday!

Hugs!

A sweet little punch needle mini-rug on a square wooden box of a kitty playing in red poppy flowers.

"Flower Girl" an original design by Prim Rose Hill.

This punch needle embroidery was punched by me on punch needle cloth using 4-strands of DMC cotton floss. The embroidery punch needle was then trimmed and attached to a wooden box I hand-painted. The base of the box is butter pecan tan and the lid is barn-red. I used to have a kitty cat named Tam-Tam when I was growing up and she just loved to get outside and lay in the flower beds in the summer-time. I couldn't help but think of her when I was designing this little prim mini-rug.

The punch needle rug measures approximately: 3 ½” across. The box measures 4” X 4” X 2 ½” tall. The lid is about an inch wider than the base.

"Cherry Pie", by Little House Needleworks.
This embroidery punch needle was then trimmed and attached to a white wicker basket. The basket has a blue & white striped liner that is removeable, if you don't like it; or if you use it and it becomes soiled, it can be removed and washed. Basket measures approximately: 11 1/2" length, 6 1/2" width, and stands 6 1/2" tall. As you can see, the punch needle mini-rug goes across the entire front of the basket.

Cherry Pie

My latest punch needle pattern is from Little House Needleworks and called 'Cherry Pie'. I love anything with crows and cherries, so what a perfect combination! I hope to have it finished by this weekend and up on eBay. It's a rather large piece and I'm thinking of adding it to a wooden box I have, maybe paint the box? I never know what the punch needle "turns into" until I sit down to do it. Have to wait on the Creativity Fairies to visit me. :)

I hope you're having a terrific Tuesday!

Southwest Horses

Hello friends!

My name is Sheri and I am officially a punch needle addict! :) Just some humor there, although it does seem to be true! I love my little part-time craft business. It's interesting because I love every step, every stage of the project. I enjoy the punch needle & I enjoy "making" it into new items. Oh sure, I love the sales on eBay, but there have been few (if any) jobs in my life that I actually enjoyed every second of. Hmmm...I wonder if I have ever had a job I enjoyed every second of? Well, as the saying goes, "enjoy what you do and you'll never work a day in your life". Now...if I could just make this a full-time job with benefits! ;) Well, guess I'd better keep the day job!

Hope you're having a wonderful Wednesday!

Hugs!

What have I been up to?

Well, I'm so glad you asked! :) I am getting ready to put a few things up on my eBay site again. I love so much being back in business. I work full-time, but my heart is in my part-time craft business. Nothing compares to making something with your own hands. I just enjoy every step of the process! I will share a few pictures with you, and then I'm off to post them on eBay. I still have one more I'm working on...maybe tonight I will get it finished and share it.

Have a great Wednesday!
Hugs!

Punch Needle Madness

Hello friends!

I have been madly punching away and painting and haven't been blogging much about my "crafts" lately. So...since I have finished a few and finally listed them on my prim*rose*hill ebay page....I thought I would share them here too so you can see what I've been doing! :)

PRIM PUNCH NEEDLE "SOW SEEDS OF LOVE" MINI RUG
This punch needle embroidery was punched by me on punch needle cloth using 3-strands of DMC cotton floss in colors of: black, pink, greens, oatmeal, salmon, blues, pumpkin. The embroidery punch needle was then trimmed and backed with a pretty grey fabric piece I had with textured black flowers, very soft and won't scratch your furniture. I then trimmed the punch needle mini rug in a piece soft grey yarn for a more finished look. The piece is a cute spring-time bunny hopping over curly-topped carrots with a heart between his paws. It has a black and dark green checkered border. He is all spruced up for spring with a cute wreath of pink flowers and green leaves around his neck!

PRIM PUNCH NEEDLE "RED BUD LANE" on HP KEEPSAKE BOX
This needle punch embroidery was punched by me on punch needle cloth using three-strands of DMC cotton floss in wonderful prim colors of: black, tans, burgundy, greens. The embroidery punch needle was then attached to a paper mache box I hand-painted. The base/bottom part of the box I painted a barn-red. The lid top is also painted barn-red. The edges of the lid I base-coated in mustard-yellow and white, then I painted pine green--almost black in color--over the edges. The edges of the lid were then sanded and distressed to show the mustard-yellow & white flecks for a worn prim look. (The inside was painted a camel beige).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PRIM PUNCH NEEDLE "CROWS AND TULIPS" HP KEEPSAKE BOX
This punch needle embroidery was punched by me on punch needle cloth using 6-strands of DMC cotton floss in 2-dimensions (adding depth) in colors of: golds, red, black, pink, green. The embroidery punch needle was then attached to a square box which I hand-painted a camel-beige-tan and "speckled" with brown flecks. The edges/borders of the lid were painted pink with antique maroon, then crackled and distressed to give it a more prim look. The inside of the box is the camel-beige-tan color, no flecks. I then trimmed the punch needle mini rug in a piece of vintage beige/cream lace that I had for a more finished look.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

PRIM PUNCH NEEDLE "SPRING 4 PATCH" HP KEEPSAKE BOX
This punch needle embroidery was punched by me on punch needle cloth using 3-strands of DMC cotton floss in 2-dimensions (adding depth) and also textured to add "fluffiness" (to the bunny & chick). It was punched in colors of: pink, green, orange, yellow, blue, purple. The embroidery punch needle was then attached to a square box which I hand-painted the sides ecru, painted polka dots, and "speckled" with tan flecks. It was then walnut-stained for a distressed look. The edges/borders of the lid were painted sage green with walnut-stain also to distress it and give it a more prim look. The inside of the box is the camel-beige-tan color, plain. I trimmed the punch needle mini rug in purple DMC floss for a more finished look for the edging. I had a cute little carrot button that I attached in the middle of the mini rug. Very cute!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PRIM PUNCH NEEDLE "POPPIES" FLOWERS on BASKET
This needle punch embroidery was punched by me on punch needle cloth using three-strands of new cotton DMC floss in wonderful prim colors of: corals, tans, browns, golds, olives. The embroidery punch needle was then attached to a rectangular very dark-brown & black woven wicker basket.
And that's what I've been doing. It really feels good to be back in business again. I have missed my craft work. Hope you're having a great week so far!
Hugs,
Sheri
