Friday Flickr Inspiration: ~~ Tilda ~~ Tone Finnager

Tone Finnanger is the designer and owner of the brand Tilda. She grew up in Oslo, the capital of Norway. If you don't own these books, they are awesome and full of great eye candy! There are so many sweet ideas in these books. I have the ones she has printed in English and I wish she would print them all! These are pictures from the book to give you an idea of her work:Crafters inspired by Tilda on Flickr:

December already?? I've been a busy bee!

I know, I just can't believe it! Where have the past few weeks gone? I've been busy as a bee, that's for sure! I still have some "crafties" to finish, but thought I'd go ahead and post what I've been making. :)

I have to start with my latest creations! I am really getting into these and think they make cute pin keeps (as in the black one below) or jewelry holders (as the turquoise one below). I think they will become a regular in my stores.Punch needle galore! More Christmas baskets!

And of course, since I've been doing more punch needle, I've had to make Christmas stockings!

And with the holidays you have to have cutsey bird ornies!

OH, and I almost forgot my scarf! I have one finished and I love it because it's sooooo soft!

Whew! I still have to finish my embroider-ed pieces this week and a super soft pink scarf! And I have to study for my final exam too. I just love being an "older" student. ;) But I've decided to not take a class in the spring (January) and just focus on work full-time and my part-time craft business. that's enough, isn't it? ;)

Hope you're feeling crafty! What have you been making? Have a blessed Wednesday!

Handmade Decorative Tea Towels

This weekend I decided to "play" and made a set of decorative tea towels for our other house. We've been moving "forever" (sigh) and hopefully next spring will be the winner! It was my grandmother's house and we've been doing a bit of changing and remodeling/upgrading for the last 3 years. Anyhow, above her kitchen sink, she had a wooden paper towel holder (at least I think that's what it was supposed to be), but when you try to unroll it, it would always get stuck or fall down (you get the picture!) So she used it to hang a set of decorative tea towels.

I have had this eyelet fabric & Donna Dewberry roses fabric for awhile so I thought I'd just make up a set just for that purpose. Kind of cute!

My first crocheted scarf!

I have always, and yes I mean ALWAYS, wanted to learn how to crochet. I mean it looks so easy when I see peoples hands just zippin' away making something! Well, apparently there are some people like me who are a bit "challenged" with this and end up buying a copy of "Crocheting for Dummies". Yes, I humbly must admit I finally broke down and bought the book. Obviously there are more people than just myself out there who just can't get it. Ok, trying to make myself feel better there. :) Of course, I had to make a pink one! And how appropriate since October is Breast Cancer awareness month too.

And I finished just in time because the temperature dropped into the 30's...brrrrr...from the high 60's! I think I might have seen a snowflake this morning!

I have bought SO many different books and yes, even a DVD, on crocheting and it just never clicked. FINALLY. But there is one small problem........

I CAN'T STOP MAKING SCARVES!

I can hear you laughing. :) I have been afflicted with the "Scarfers Curse". I know you've heard of it. It's a tragic condition where every person I know is getting a scarf for Christmas! My husband just shakes his head and says "there's going to be some cold sheep this year". I can't help it. I want to move on to an afghan! :)

Keep on Crafting,

Prim Rose Hill Greetings

I have been a "crafty-kind-of-person" for long time now. My fondest childhood memories are the times I spent working on a particular arts and crafts project. Our bathroom wall at home consisted of my paint-by-numbers bunny rabbits and my room was cluttered with hand-painted items, various sewing projects in different stages, and lots of crayons & paint bottles! Fortunately, my painting has progressed a bit, but I still have lots of paint bottles!

I wanted a blog to share my sewing projects, art designs, painting, and just things that give me inspiration. I realized I was saving alot of Word documents with different "ideas" for future hopes of inspiration, so why not make it easy and put it in a blog? 'Cause we all know that everyone is blogging nowadays. :-)

What style do I like? I used to love painting shabby chic colors and anything floral. But lately I've been drawn towards the simple primitive and americana styles. So from there we get the name "Prim Rose"...my love for Prim and my love for shabby chic Roses. (Yep, I live on a Hill too!)
